A seminar for you as a teachers at an international school or departments giving you a mix of professional speakers focusing on teaching skills, information on your work situation and membership of Frie Skolers Lærerforening (FSL) and an opportunity to  network with other international teachers.

We hope that the management at your school will see the seminar as a good opportunity for you and your colleagues to get a professional brush-up and therefore give you the Friday off to attend the seminar. You may have to “read” your lessons at another time if management asks you to do so.

March 24, 2017

• 9.30: Coffee in the lounge
• 10.15: Welcome: practical information and presentation of the program and the participants
• 10.30: Multilevel teaching w/ Nanna Paarup and Søs Rask. Your students are at different levels academically, culturally and linguistically. How do you create a learning environment where all students realise their full potential?
• 12.00: Lunch
• 13.30: Create good relations by using appreciative communication w/ Rune Strøm. How can you use strategy, intuition and planning in order to get your message across in a way that you keep and create constructive and appreciative relations with students, parents, colleagues and management?
• 15.00: Coffee break
• 15.30: Assessment workshop w/ teachers from international schools and departments. How do you assess the students using the Cambridge and IB assessment tools for primary and secondary level?
• 17.15: The Expat Experience (and how to survive it) w/ Helen Russell. What to do in order to make Denmark feel like home. 10 top tips for living Danishly.
• 19.30: Dinner
• 21.00: Networking

• 9.00: Working environment w/ consultant Bolette Bom. How to create a good working environment? How can you be a co-creator of a good working environment? And what demands can you have to the working environment at your school?
• 11.00: Coffee
• 11.15: Uffe Rostrup, Chairman of Frie Skolers Lærerforening. “What’s up in FSL?”
• 12.45: Evaluation and goodbye
• 13.00: Lunch

Practical info

• The meeting is free for members of FSL.
• Accommodation and meals are included.
• We will send you a list of the attendees before the seminar so it is possible to arrange car-pooling to Hornstrup.
• We cover transport expenses (car or train).
• FSL do not cover expenses for supply teachers.
• Remember to inform us of any food allergies etc. on the application form.
