How can you help turnaround group dynamics in the classroom when they are negatively impacting student well-being?

In this two-hour mini-course, you will work with exercises and ideas for improving the collective and individual well-being of students.

Repairing a dysfunctional group dynamic is a complex undertaking, but the point of this course is that the classroom is the smallest unit – and it is where your efforts can make the most important and impactful difference.

The focus will be on methods for building positive group dynamics and working in classrooms where the social dynamics have gone awry.

We will also explore issues and common reactions by individual students, and what you can do to help students exhibiting different types of reactions, such as externalizing behaviours.

This two-hour course will give you:

  • Knowledge about how children show us that the group dynamics require intervention and change.
  • Inspiration for addressing negative group dynamics in the classroom.
  • Specific tools and techniques for working to build a strong sense of group cohesion, improving students’ understanding of themselves and others, and focusing on emotions in group dynamics.
