Being a union representative at an independent school can be a lonely job. You are the only one at your school with this special position and you cannot talk to your colleagues about some of the things you experience as a union representative since it falls under the duty of confidentiality. In addition, being a union representative for international members of Frie Skolers Lærerforening is an even more special position since you might be the only one in your district with international members. 

We know that the eight districts arrange meetings for the union reps in the district where you have the opportunity to discuss union-related themes with the other union reps in your area. However, we think that you might face some issues that are unique for you as a union rep for international members.  

The international committee is therefore inviting you to a union rep-day for the union representatives at international schools and departments where you can participate in professional back-and-forth with other union reps. 

It is important for us that the agenda is relevant for you as a union rep so the agenda might change on the day. However, the agenda is as follows (for now):

As a union representative, you should have the necessary time to perform your duties as a representative for your colleagues and this includes attending meetings. We therefore do not cover expenses for supply teachers on the day. However, we will cover your transportation expenses by either train or car.
