We hope that the management at your school will see the seminar as a good opportunity for you and your international colleagues to get a professional brush-up and therefore give you the Friday off to attend the seminar.
However, Frie Skolers Lærerforening do not cover expenses for supply teachers. You may have to move your lessons to another time if the management asks you to do so.

10:30 – 12:00 Session 1: How to handle critical parents?
By Bolette Bom & Simon Astrup, consultants at Frie Skolers Lærerforening
You are in a vulnerable position when one or more parents are critical or file a complaint. Even if the criticism is completely unfounded, it can still affect you, and you may feel powerless in relation to the process. At the event, we will give you useful ideas on how to handle criticism or complaints, so you can be prepared if it happens to you. What can you do, and what can you expect from your management? What can you do in relation to the parents? By knowing more about your options, you may be able to influence the process so that you are impacted as little as possible by the whole situation.

21:00 Bollywood dance
by Neha Kane
Bollywood dancing is a vibrant and energetic dance style that originates from Indian cinema. It blends classical Indian dance forms, such as Bharatanatyam and Kathak, with folk styles like Bhangra and Garba, while also incorporating elements of jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary dance. Known for its expressive movements, colourful costumes, and storytelling through rhythm and gesture, Bollywood dancing captures the joy, emotion, and drama of Indian films. It’s a fun and dynamic way to celebrate culture, music, and movement.

Saturday 11th April

7.30-8:15 Yoga session
by Neha Kane (relaxation, mindfulness, breathing techniques, meditation).
Pranayama is a yogic practice that focuses on controlling the breath to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The word comes from Sanskrit, where "prana" means life force or breath, and "ayama" means control or extension. Through various breathing techniques—such as deep breathing, alternate nostril breathing, and rhythmic patterns—Pranayama helps calm the mind, reduce stress, improve concentration, and increase energy levels. It is often practised as a part of yoga to prepare the body and mind for meditation.

8:15 -9:15 Breakfast and check out

9:15-10:15 Session 4 Malgorzata Ravn ‘Elements of Art Therapy’. Workshops.
According to a 2016 study published in the Journal of the American Art Therapy Association, less than an hour of creative activity can reduce your stress and have a positive effect on your mental health, regardless of artistic experience or talent.
